Me
My name is Mohammad Arfeen, some of my friends like calling me Mo. I am currently pursuing my M.S. in biomedical sciences with a concentration in Health Care Administration and management at a small private university in Illinois.
Interests
Reading: Reading has been one of my favorite things to do since I was very young, as far back as I can remember; I always read more than my peers. As a young child I used to read a lot of fiction mainly mystery, my favorite series were “The Boxcar Children” and “The Hardy Boys“, I can remember sitting for hours in my room, the kitchen or the living room reading these books. As I got older, I started being interested in various different authors such as Tom Clancy, Robert Crais, John Grisham, Michael Crichton, and Dan Brown. Now I have more or less lost the majority of my interest in fiction writing; I mainly read books in the genres of psychology, science, philosophy, sports, finance, economics, business, technology, science textbooks, and of course primary research.
Fitness: I enjoy taking care of my body and staying in shape, some of my favorite hobbies are running, swimming, and cycling. I enjoy running frequently through the week, and trying to set new PRs. I also like swimming and cycling a few times each week, to keep myself in shape. I focus mainly on cardio-vascular exercise, but I do also enjoy doing a few weight training workouts every week as well.
Sports: I love watching sports, my favorite sports to watch are football, soccer, and basketball. I also enjoy watching cycling, running, swimming, triathlons, and F1 racing. My favorite teams are the Chicago Bears, Manchester United, Cleveland Cavaliers, The Ohio State Buckeyes, Lotus F1, and Astana Cycling.
Movies: It’s no secret that I am a huge movie buff, I love movies, bad movies, good movies, great movies, and even the downright horrible movies. I love reading Rotten Tomatoes and wasting hours on IMDB. I also enjoy watching The Totally Rad Show. Expect to see an occasional movie review.
Computers and Technology: My family bought our first computer a HP Pavilion running Windows 98 when I was in the 2nd grade, ever since then I have been in love with them, I enjoy programming, designing (my abilities are very limited), and of course playing with new technology. I also enjoy keeping up with the latest technology updates by reading Ars Technica.
Relaxing: I like spending my free time hanging out with friends and relaxing. I enjoy going out to eat, watching movies, and sitting around and talking with friends.
What I do
Well as a student in a fairly rigorous course of studies, I spend much of my time studying. My zealousness in studying what most would perceive as fairly mundane subjects, comes from Caffeine (mainly in the form of Mountain Dew), Chocolate (in the form of Twix and various brands of dark chocolate), and a genuine personal interest in the subjects. I cannot stress the importance of genuinely being interested in the subjects one chooses to study. I may or may not carry a copy of the Man Laws in my wallet.
